RecFix ("we", "our", or "the extension") is a Chrome browser extension that helps users improve their YouTube recommendations. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our extension.

When you use RecFix, the extension accesses the following information:

• YouTube Page Content: Video titles, thumbnails, channel names, and video IDs from your currently viewed YouTube page. This happens only when you explicitly click the "Scan" button.
• YouTube API Data: When generating recommendations, we query the YouTube Data API v3 to fetch video details and related content based on your selections.

The information accessed is used exclusively for:

• Displaying scanned videos within the extension popup
• Generating personalized video recommendations via the YouTube API
• Creating playlists on your YouTube account (only when you explicitly choose to save)

All processing happens locally in your browser or through direct API calls to YouTube's servers. We do not have our own servers that receive or process your data.

RecFix stores only minimal data locally on your device:

• Usage Counter: A simple count of daily "Fix Feed" uses (limited to 2 per day) stored via Chrome's local storage API. This resets daily and contains no personal information.

RecFix interacts with the following third-party services:

• YouTube Data API v3: Used to fetch video information and related recommendations. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Google OAuth 2.0: Used for optional authentication when saving playlists to your YouTube account. Authentication is handled securely by Google's systems.

RecFix does not collect, store, or transmit:

• Personal identification information (name, email, etc.)
• Browsing history or watch history
• Cookies or tracking data
• Location data
• Financial information
• Authentication credentials (handled by Google)
• Any data to external servers

You have full control over your data:

• Uninstall Anytime: Removing the extension deletes all locally stored data.
• Revoke Access: You can revoke YouTube API access at any time through your Google Account Permissions.
• No Account Required: Core features work without signing in to Google.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
